Remember how NBC was going to do a reboot of Wonder Woman, but wanted to redesign (why?) her costume? Anyone else see the under-rated Maryna Lincuk in this ensemble and think it's 90% there? ..well, aside from looking like her panties were hatched from an egg, but still..

Adriana Lima said this outfit from I Put A Spell On You was her favorite of all time. Considering the number of beautiful Angel creations she's (barely) worn over the years, I can't say I can pick one that easily, but I can see it casting a spell

You may have noticed - or, not - that I usually post the after-show review a little closer to after the show than I did this year. I have a ton of pictures ready to go, but my girlfriend and I watch the show and then decide which outfits and models to highlight. Take notice of Elsa Hosk, above, from the Club Pink segment near the end of the show. Not that her outfit was anything far out of the ordinary, but my girlfriend saw Ms. Hosk start down the runway, caught her breath, stood up and asked me why didn't she ever think to dress for watching the show? As I answered her with the snappy come back of 'Huh?', she pointed to the screen, then to herself. I didn't get it at first, but as she was removing her jeans, I did notice it left her wearing a (grey) sweatshirt, pink (though not PINK) bikini panties and socks.

As much as we tried to stick to the task at hand, other concerns did intrude. So, we'd both like to thank Ms. Hosk for us having one really fantastic night beyond the show, and for us both being royally dead (but happy!) at work the next day.

So, will fufL be making a regular-schedule come-back anytime soon? Probably not before the new year. Work and other real-life concerns are a bit more time-consuming than planned, but this is all for good- it's getting my girlfriend and I closer to some important goals. One of which means I should probably be a bit more accurate and start calling her my fiancé now, since we've been officially engaged since Summer (hell, she'll let me tell you the above story, she may as well let me spill that, too). Here's to hoping for the New Year - maybe we'll have a little more time to check in closer to Christmas or New Years. The best to you and yours!

Since the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is tomorrow night on CBS - yes, we know it's already happened in real time; go along with us that it doesn't really happen until the broadcast - have a perfect Blue Monday for today: Ms. Miranda Kerr in the 2011 Treasure Fantasy Bra

In case you're keeping score, according to Vicky's, this year's Bra is worth $2.5 million, has 3400 hand-set precious gems including 142 carats of white and yellow diamonds and pearls set in 18 karat yellow gold. Made by London Jewelers (not of England, but of Long Island), it took 500 hours of skilled work by Master Craftsman. Who were probably very happy in their work if Ms. Kerr had to stand very still for 500 hours while they worked on it.

Beside ABC's Pam-Am, the other Mad Men-era / 1960's show this season stars Amber Heard as 'Bunny Maureen' in NBC's The Playboy Club. You'd think the Bunny costumes alone should count for some tune-in. Maybe not. (Confession: My girlfriend and I were watching Hawaii 5-0, we later learned both her parents and mine watched Castle, so we were of no help.) You can watch the show on-line after each episode airs if you've missed them.

I won't give too much plot away, but if you're the new girl in early 1960's Chicago, and one of the first people you meet is the town's biggest mobster in rage mode, and one of the next people you meet is an attorney who goes into 'let's cover up a really inconvenient accidental death of a mobster' mode, maybe you're hanging with the wrong people?

Going against both The Playboy Club and Pam-Am is the sport of analysis of 'What Does It All Mean For Today's Women?'(Mad Men came first, was original, built slower, and snuck under that RADAR before becoming a hit)

Some have not taken too kindly to the idea of the show's setting as (still?) scandalous. Some writers have expressed an opinion Ms. Heard's interviews about life as a Bunny are naive at best. Gloria Steinem gained her first fame with an article ('A Bunny's Tale') where she went undercover in a real Playboy Club in the early 60's that says those critics may have a valid argument.

Ms. Heard, sans Bunny costume, and pretty much sans dress

My girlfriend's take on the shows' agenda? 'Mad Men works, TV copies everything, and they're trying to get both men and women to watch it so we'll all do the same thing: Buy shit.'

And she wonders why I love her (and keep trying to get her to write a blog post)

What hath Mad Men wrought? More shows set in the 1960's universe. One is ABC's Pam-Am, based on the original American international airline.

The most famous of the cast would be Christina Ricci, who I doubt you'll see out of her uniform in lingerie as above, no matter how 'Bohemian' her character may be written

Other cast members include Kelli Garner (closer in era above, if only in spirit?) Margot Robbie of the Australian saga Neighbours and French-Canadian Karine Vanasse

The cast had a few thoughts on their wardrobe, outer and under..

In a special Pan-Am section of this week's TV Guide, the show's Costume Designer, Ane Crabtree explained the work behind the ladies' era look: ' You can't do anything half-assed.. you have to throw yourself off the deep end into 1963.' As for the foundation garments under the recreated iconic stewardess uniforms? ..the de riguer girdles and bullet bras.. lead to a surprising revelation. 'The assumption would be that the foundation would inhibit or restrict movement, but really it just changes movement, makes you stand up taller, straighter, and most of the girls love them.'

You might expect them to be wearing something more along the (long) lines of these shapers, and I'm guessing since it may be set in the 60's but written for 2011 and beyond, we'll be seeing a lot more of foundation (and other, perhaps.. less restrictive?) undergarments of their era. Vintage lovers can rejoice

So, how is Zooey Deschanel New? She is in terms of starring in regular series TV. She's been a little busy making as many cool movies as possible. Tonight at 9 on Fox, she's Jess, the New Girl in more ways than one, if you follow the plot.

Problems with this already. Throw around terms like 'adorkable' all you want, you're going to tell me anyone who looks like Zooey Deschanel can't find a guy who'll treat her right? Yeah, in real-life, she did. Or that She can't sing?

Then again, the premise worked for the seemingly-perfect Mary Richards for seven seasons, why not Ms. Deschanel's character?

True, you may not see her in lingerie - or even with a hint as above*, but them how many women can do the Always-Exotic-Sometime-Erotic Couch-Cushion Dance?:

Blue Monday 09 18 11 - TV Week: Poppy Montgomery

Ms. Montgomery (aka Poppy Petal Emma Elizabeth Deveraux Donahue ..really!) spent several seasons playing Sam (Samantha) Spade (..really!) on the drama Without A Trace.

This season, the Australian actress is back in American series TV playing a detective with Thymesia. If you said 'Gesundheit!', you probably don't know that's a term for someone with a condition where they can remember everything they've ever seen or done, down to the day, date and time.
Useful in solving crimes, eh?

Poppy's perfectly-title new program is 'Unforgettable', on CBS Tuesday nights at 10. I'm guessing these photos - although only one has her wearing blue lingerie - will help you remember.

Goodbye UHQ Models

Sometime over the past week when some of us were preoccupied with Real Life, we lost a great blog. UHQ Models was a labor of love by one Mugo for the past couple years (originally as HQ Models until he moved from Blogger to Wordpress). From his twitter feed, it seems he left a Goodbye message, but that and the blog are now sadly gone.

To get a bit of the site's flavor, check out a few fufL posts about it. I really wish I had done more. Of course, I may have in a way; I'd hate to count the number of sites that were ripping off photos from him with no credit. I honestly don't keep track of the source of most of the photos I find surfing, but if I came across one that tended to look a little too good, I'd just figure it must have been from UHQ Models. As I mentioned in a previous post, I'd use him as a reference for certain photos.

The picture above is of the lovely Andi Muise wearing a quite classy bra and panty from Chantelle Lingerie. I used it for this post not because I got it from Mugo's site - I have saved a few from him I'd been planning to use, with proper credit - but because Mugo made no secret of the fact he's an ardent fan of Ms. Muise. You can certainly see why. I hope he'd think it a fitting photo to say Goodbye and Thanks!

With good reason, we've featured model Caitlin Manley before. We've also mentioned her official website, Facebook and twitter pages. Something else we've linked to is her blog, Inspiration Board. Lingerie is only a small portion of her fashion career, and her blog takes you though so many artistic ideas, not to mention around the world in her travels. You'll find a lot of posts of her latest photo shoots mixed in, but it's by no means one big commercial. (So much for that old, unfair slam about models being shallow mannequins.. well, a few probably are, but not because they're models..)

That being said, she did focus on lingerie in one post from last month called 'New England Summer'

Something a bit different for this year's celebration. I'm often asked, 'Why don't you pay any attention to Men's' underwear?' I do - I wear it daily, and I'm building a rather nice collection, thank you. I just don't care to see guys wearing it. Although recently finding my girlfriend once again 'borrowing' a few of my boxers as they came out of the dryer reminded me of this campaign from Denmark's JBS with the tag line 'Men Don't Want To Look At Naked Men.'

Mostly-undressed women enamoured with Men's' underwear is a different concept, of course..

And they said we wouldn't last. Whomever 'they' are.. Probably the people that started all those abandoned blogs that litter the Interwebs. Don't think that I'm getting full of myself on this - I would have never guessed this little blog would be here five years later. My thanks goes to my amazing girlfriend, who amazingly shares my passion for lingerie and underwear, and although she still hasn't written a guest post (HINT!) supports fufL with her ideas, interests and comments. Not to mention her being a physical inspiration by what lingerie she collects and wears under her clothes daily. I look at a photo for a post and try to imagine her in whatever particular bra or panty is modeled.

Thanks to my fellow Lingerie Bloggers, who you'll find on our Blogroll below. Knowing how much time this little hobby takes me, I'm constantly amazed at how much (more) work they put into some fantastic websites.

And of course, Thanks to You for reading and commenting on the posts. Honestly, considering the demands of Real Life, I'm amazed I still have any time left to keep this project going, but the feedback is like fuel - and it's appreciated.

Not that lingerie has lost any of it's power over the years, but I'm told when Madonna was first running around in more lingerie than Ms. Knowles above, it was a huge media circus deal.
Now? Welcome to 2011. I think I like 2011 just fine.

Another reason to like it? Mila Kunis is not stuck in the 70's for real, she's way cooler than Meg (though I've never thought Meg was all that uncool), she's so cool she's also done voices on Robot Chicken, and she's in the August GQ to promote Friends With Benefits with Justin Timberlake.

She appears to be doing a good job of it.. Read her interview here

Another reason she's cool, period?

Lest you think it's cheap publicity for the movie, it'll be out of theaters long before then, and I doubt the DVD marketing schedule will matter.

What can we learn from this?

There are some very beautiful young ladies in The Netherlands.

To gain fame, unlike Americans, instead of getting drunk, profane and loud and throwing things at each other in what some call 'Reality-TV', these ladies don't mind entering a contest and stripping to their bras and panties in public.

Flash Mob audiences are far mellower than I suspect Americans would be presented a similar situation - or at least they are in Nieuwkoop

Whoever was operating the solo(!) camera should have realized about thirty seconds into this that no one in the crowd seemed more than bemused, and kept the damned camera on the ladies in lingerie instead

And, Hello? We have to wait almost two minutes into the video for the first hint of nylon or lace? It's called Editing. Google it?

A few weeks ago I was participating in #lingeriechat on twitter - a weekly discussion of all things lingerie. The topic of colors came up, and it reminded me of something that inspired this week's theme on fufL. Some weeks back, my girlfriend was in a playful mood on a Sunday. She wasn't in any great hurry to get dressed - not that I minded, but we did have plans. Just for the hell of it, she decided nothing was going to match. It didn't: Bright lime-green side-tie silk panties, a blue bra, red shirt, purple denim shorts, rainbow socks and white running shoes. Not to be outdone, I managed purple briefs, a yellow shirt, black jeans, white socks and brown Sketchers. Just as well that neither of us found her Waldo hat. Amazingly, no accidents were reported from people driving up on the sidewalk as we made our way around town. Honestly, most people probably thought we were from a visiting team, not another planet, but such is life in a college town. No way could I find the exact outfit she wore, but the young lady's attire (or what's left of it) will do. My girlfriend won't see this post until it's up.. I wonder what she can come up with for today?

There seem to be varying dates for this event - might there be more than a few women not too fond of the bras they feel forced to wear? This particular day's event has a Facebook page and website promoting it, apparently the work of one Anastasia Donuts

My girlfriend's reaction, despite being a collector of many pretty bras: 'Damn! I wish I'd thought of a name that cool to use on-line!' Um.. what about the idea of No Bra Day? 'Oh. All for it'. Then again, with the right top, she can easily get away without one, and she does concede that may be a little more of a problem for ladies more endowed than herself. And, not that she's one to wish it was attire for outside of home, but she's spent more than a few lazy weekend hours undressed in about as little as Argentine actress and model Zaira Nara is above.
